“You cant get very far in life until you start doing something for somebody else”
Melvin Jones - Lions Club Founder

Dear Friends,

Many thanks for visiting our webpage, be that to learn more about the Lions Club in general or to see what we here in Westport Lions Club do within our community and further afield.

"WE SERVE" is not only the motto but the philosophy that us members or "Lions" as we are known, strive to adhere to. It is one we share with the Westport Community and it is evident in the good work you see being carried out through the Lion's Club with our 30 years of service in the West of Ireland.

We believe our role in Westport Lions Club is that of facilitators. There are many within our community, who through no fault of their own, be that illness, bereavement or economic necessity have simply fallen on hard times. We utilise our position to shine a light on these concerns. We then use the skills and resources of our members to tackle these issues, sometimes calling on the community to help where needed. We do this in the genuine belief that those who live in a community are in the best position to know who needs help and why.

We are always open to welcoming new members. They bring in fresh ideas, energy, talents and skills, giving us collectively a greater opportunity for impact. In turn the personal satisfaction from community service coupled with the development of personal friendships and advancement of leadership skills makes being a Lion a truly worthy ambition.

We hope you enjoy browsing our website and that you are inspired by the great work being carried out here, all in the name of service. We would love to hear from you, be that through suggestions, queries or feedback as we endeavour to keep Westport Lions Club a dynamic and impactful Club to be involved with.

Yours in service
Lion Darren Cawley

Unfortunately due to the horrendous weather conditions predicted and the current red Alert over the whole country, it has been decided that the National Lions Club convention of Lions Clubs of Ireland District 133 will be postponed this weekend and will take place in Westport in April.
We hope that you all stay safe over the next couple of days and make sure to check in on your neighbours or people on their own. #stormemma #staysafe #lionsclub #convention2018 #reschedule Ballina Lions Club - Ireland &District 22-D Lions Clubs International Lions Clubs International Convention
